Kids are so cool

February 7th, 2009  |  Published in Family

Couldn’t find my purse the other day (frantic). So my 6yo daughter packs her wallet with $12 (for my lunch), pictures of her and a sweet note to mommie. oh my. Later my daughter said that she should’ve included a note for the police: “my mommie is allowed to drive. She just can’t find her wallet today.”

My daughter is amazing.

Otis the Dawg, Day 2

April 27th, 2008  |  Published in Family

Otis the DawgLast night the kids sang the “Good Night Otis We Love You So” song to Otis before going to bed. This morning the kids were worried that the thunderstorm was scaring him, so they sang “Hush Little Otis Don’t Be Afraid” to him.

Otis is a perfect dog – and is well-loved by us all. He is a great addition to our family.

OK, so that cats are not sure yet — but they are teasing him like mad. One of the cats even followed us 1/2 block on our wagon ride/dog walk today, just to taunt Otis. You know those cats will totally be his boss. Otis already approaches slowly and with extreme caution .

Otis the DawgOtis came home with us today from the PawMatch shelter.

Our newest family member is just as easy-going and sweet as he can be. The kiddos (2 & 6) are crazy about him. They even sang him a lullaby at bedtime tonight.

Otis is a Mastiff/German Shepherd or Golden Retriever mix, about 7 months old, 55lbs, on the skinny side, mostly brindle with a little white on his chest. The vet is guessing he’ll reach about 100lbs.
